Ross Taylor 'feeling really good' for pink ball Test against England

March 21, 2018
The Black Caps batsman belted 181 not out to claim the fourth ODI in Dunedin.

Black Caps batsman Ross Taylor is confident he'll be fit enough to line up against England at Eden Park tomorrow, having battled a quad injury.

Taylor, 34, aggravated the injury during the One Day International series against England, batting on one leg during his innings of 181* in Dunedin.

He subsequently missed the series decider in Christchurch as New Zealand succumbed to a seven wicket loss.

Appearing on RadioSport this morning, Taylor tried to allay fears that he'd miss the match, while adding he was battling illness.

"I'm feeling really good at the moment," he said.

"I've actually been crook. Got the kindy bugs from the kids and I haven't been able to run and yesterday was the first day."

Should Taylor fail to prove his fitness for the start of the match, Martin Guptill will take his place in the Black Caps' batting order.
