Richie McCaw confirmed for rugby v cricket charity 'Black Clash'

Former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw will don the boots once more - only this time on the cricket pitch, instead of the rugby field, confirmed for January's T20 Black Clash.

The match, which will see a Team Cricket up against Team Rugby in a charity Twenty20 clash in Christchurch , where a number of ex-All Blacks and Black Caps take the pitch, with McCaw the latest addition to the star studded roster.

"I'm always up for a challenge and this certainly is a big one," McCaw said in a statement.

"It's a fantastic event for Christchurch and a chance to catch up with some old mates in the process, so I'm chuffed to be a part of it."

McCaw will be joined by Black Ferns halfback, Kendra Cocksedge, while Team Cricket confirmed the additions of star duo Nathan Astle and Chris Harris.

Team Cricket: Stephen Fleming (player-coach), Brendon McCullum (c), Grant Elliott, Kyle Mills, Luke Ronchi, Chris Harris, Nathan Astle.

Team Rugby: Kieran Read (c), Richie McCaw, Kendra Cocksedge, Israel Dagg, Jason Spice, Kaylum Boshier, Sir Graham Henry (coach), Scott Robertson (manager).
