Pakistan has asked New Zealand Cricket to consider sending the Black Caps to play in their country during their November tour.

New Zealand's cricket side is set to play Pakistan in three Tests, five one-day internationals and three Twenty20 matches in United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman sent a request to NZC chief executive David White two weeks ago suggesting to play a few T20 matches in Pakistan.

"Not the whole series, just a couple of matches," White told Fairfax.

"We're just completing due diligence, consulting security providers, the Government and the players. We'll respond to Pakistan once we've completed that process, and we'll let everyone know."

The Black Caps last played in Pakistan in 2003, the year after an explosion went off outside the team's hotel in Karachi.

In 2009, the Sri Lankan team was attacked while travelling in a bus in Lahore.

Six players and an assistant umpire were hurt, while six security guards and two civilians died.
