FIFTY! Kane Williamson brings up his 37th ODI half century. A great knock from the New Zealand skipper.

New Zealand 188/2 - Guptill 118 Williamson 46* - chasing 226

OUT! Martin Guptill's amazing innings with the bat comes to an end. Mustafizur Rahman bowls to Guptill and he hits it to deep midwicket where Liton Das makes a safe catch. Next in is veteran Ross Taylor.

New Zealand 45/1 (Guptill 30* Williamson 0*) chasing 226

7.4 overs -  Wicket! Bangladesh make a much needed breakthrough as Nicholls is caught in the deep off the bowling of Rahman.

6.4 overs -  Relentless from Guptill who has two sixes and two fours already.

3 overs -  Guptill and Nicholls are looking to make short work of the run chase, dispatching the ball to all corners of the park.

1st over -  The run chase has begun, with a steady first over from the Black Cap openers.

All out -  Trent Boult takes a screamer of a catch to end the Bangladesh innings. Not a bad effort from the visitors who were looking at a sub 200 total early on.

46 overs -  Ferguson grabs another wicket this time bowling Saifuddin.

43.5 overs - Another catch, this time Sabbir is caught off the bowling of Ferguson.

40.3 overs - Just like that the partnership is over! Mehidy edges it to point where Nicholls takes the catch off the bowling of Neesham.

40 overs -  A handy partnership building between Sabbir and Mehidy as we enter the last 10 overs.

36 overs - Astle to continue, he has two overs left.

35.4 overs - An LBW has been given! Looks high, review pending...and it was high. I should umpire. I jest, easier watching it on tele obviously.

34.3 overs - Just as I type that Astle strikes! A ball that was pushed through cleans up Mithun as he attempted a cut shot.

34 overs - Rahman picks up where Mithun left off, hooking Boult for four and then hitting another boundary. Bangladesh on the move!

33 overs - Mithun goes bang to bring up his 50.  Lunching Astle for six over midwicket and then following that up with a boundary over cover. That's drinks.

32 overs - Two boundaries off the last over from Boult.

30 overs - Mithun looked to have done some damage to his hamstring. Physio is out there at the moment. You'd think it was pretty pivotal for Bangladesh that he's okay and able to continue. Which he is, good news.

29 overs - NZ were tempted to review an LBW but wisely Latham recommended not doing that. The deliver looked like it pitched it outside leg.

28 overs - Astle goes for another boundary off the previous over while Ferguson concedes a couple from his over.

25 overs - A boundary in each of the last two overs with Mithun crunching one through cover off Astle.

23 overs - A bungled attempted save on the boundary costs NZ a couple as a strange day keeps getting stranger.

20.5 overs - Astle is into the attack and he's taken a wicket! Latham takes a nice catch standing up to send Mahmudullah on his way.

18 overs - Mushfiqur goes for 24! He chops one on off Ferguson, who deserved some reward.

17 overs - Mithun crushes a straight drive to end an over that featured...some more wides. That's 13 now.

16 overs - Taylor has put down another one. Another very easy chance as chances go at slip. Mithun gets a life. Bizarre.

14 overs - Ferguson then gifts the tourists five wides. At least he was efficient about it though as they were all in one go this time.

13.4 overs - Weird has just got weirder, Taylor has dropped a catch at slip - and as chances goes in the grippers, it was an easy one.

13 overs - I'll tell the story of that over like this - wide, wide, dot, wide, wicket, wide, dot, wide, dot, four, dot. Cricket - what a game.

Also worth mentioning that Mithun got off the mark with a nice cut for four. Double change with Ferguson into the attack.

12.2 overs - After several wides, CDG knicks Soumya off, taken in the slips by Taylor.

12 overs - Little Mushfiqur crushes a pull shot for a one-bounce boundary. De Grandhomme into the attack now.

11 overs - Soumya rubs salt in with a boundary as he puts a long half volley away through covers, seven off the Henry over.

10.3 overs - Astle puts one down at square leg. Mushfiqur hit a pull shot nicely and the spinner couldn't take the chance above his head.

10 overs - An eventful over, an edge that went through the slips for a boundary, a play-and-miss and then four leg byes to finish.

9 overs - Just the one from what was a nice set from Matt Henry.

8 overs - Mushfiqur gets off the mark with nice punch down the ground. Bangladesh 22/2

7 overs - Mushfiqur survives the final delivery. Bangladesh 16/2

6.5 overs - Out! Henry brings one back to Tamim and that's dead, LBW. Surely they won't review, bit of seniority about it because he has. Review found that it was in fact, dead. Review gone.

6 overs - Soumya hit the first boundary of the day that over, a nicely controlled pull shot that beat long leg. Bangladesh 16/1

5 overs - Henry completes the over. Unsurprisingly, still a bit in the wicket. Bangladesh 12/1

11.25am - Good news! The covers are coming off and we'll have cricket again shortly.

4 overs -  Bit of rain around as Boult ends his over....and they've come off one ball into the over.  Bangladesh 10/1

3.1 overs - What a catch! Ferguson takes a very, very good grab over his shoulder running back from mid-on. Liton Das goes after a strange shot, charging and trying to hit Boult back over his head. Bangladesh 5/1

3 overs - A run out chance goes begging that over! Williamson went for a direct hit after a mix-up between the batsmen. He missed with the throw by proabably had time to throw to Latham. Iqbal was well short. Bangladesh 5/0

2 overs - A maiden from Boult, a little swing for him. Bangladesh being understandably conservative with the assistance for the bowlers - and also after Napier. Bangladesh 1/0

1 overs - Just the one from the first over, a leg bye. A bit of seam movement for Heny. Boult to start from the other end. Bangladesh 1/0

10.58am - The showers have stayed away so the players are out in the middle. Matt Henry to take the new ball.

10.50am - It looks very fresh down in Christchurch, the tourists are wearing beanies as they go through their warmups. which is never a great sign. As I type that the covers are coming on.

10.48am - The Black Caps have made one change with Todd Astle coming in for Mitch Santner.

10.40am - New Zealand have won the toss and elected to put the Bangladeshis in.

NZ XI: Guptill, Nicholls, Williamson, Taylor, Latham, de Grandhomme, Neesham, Henry, Astle, Ferguson, Boult

Bangladesh XI: Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammed Mithum, Mahmudullah, Sabbir Rahman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mohammed Saifuddin, Masrafe Mortaza, Mustafizue Rahman
