Taylor drops Perera now! An uppish swipe to cover has Taylor coming in off the ring only to spill it. A tough chance, but Taylor's taken harder. Perera makes NZ pay by taking three boundaries from the over.

Seifert drops Perera! The left hander plays across a googly from Sodhi, with the edge going behind, only for the keeper to spill it!
That could be a huge drop for NZ, Perera made 140 in the second ODI in Mount Maunganui remember.

Fifty for Perera! Sodhi dishes one up in the slot, and Perera gets down on one knee to hammer him for six to reach his half ton. He gets to his milestone from 42 balls, four boundaries and two sixes.
Sri Lanka need 164 runs from 16.5 overs.
5:33pm: SL 195/5, 33 overs - Perera 46*, Gunathilaka 16*
Southee comes back into the attack, with Williamson looking to contain Perera. He starts with a wide, and that's the fifty partnership between this pair.
Perera gives Southee the charge next ball, but can only get one to Williamson. Gunathilaka is hit on the pad fourth ball, but that's got to have pitched outside leg. Williamson and Seifert consider the review, but go against it.
5:21pm: SL 180/5, 30 overs - Perera 35*, Gunathilaka 14*
Perera has started to attack, taking 12 from Matt Henry's fifth over, before Williamson applied the breaks a tad. This pair have added 37 for the sixth wicket so far, but still a lot of work to do.
Sri Lanka still need 185 runs from 20 overs.

WICKET! Ferguson joins the party! Kusal Perera swings at a wide one, with the ball going through to Seifert. The umpire gives it out caught behind, but Perera reviews it straight away. There's a noise as the ball passes the bat, coupled with a small mark on the inside edge on hotspot.
The decision sticks, Perera out for 43. Danushka Gunathilaka the new man.

A slight delay in play as Kusal Perera is treated for copping a Ferguson short ball to the hand. We're ready to go again as Ferguson sends down another bouncer, but Perera is up to it, pulling him through wide midwicket for four.
Sri Lanka still need 233 runs from 29 overs.
4:34pm: SL 117/4, 17.1 overs - K Perera 29*, T Perera 0*
WICKET! Another one goes, this time Shanaka falls. The right hander tries to get across and sweep the spinner, but misses and is struck flush on the pad. The umpire wastes no time giving it out. Shanaka doesn't even think about the review, he's out for just two runs.
Thisara Perera the next man in. Sri Lanka still need 248 runs from 32.5 overs.
4:20pm: SL 107/3, 15.1 overs - Perera 22*, Shanaka 0*
WICKET! Kusal Mendis is run out for a diamond duck! Perera tries to sneak a single off Sodhi, but Williamson's throw has him in trouble. Seifert takes the bails off, but we'll need the third umpire.
The replays are somewhat inconclusive, with the bails coming off in between the camera's frames. Extensive replays appear to have Mendis' bat on the line, meaning he's out. The third umpire confirms the worst for Sri Lanka, Mendis run out without facing a ball.
Dasun Shanaka the new batsman. Sri Lanka still need 258 runs from 34.5 overs.

WICKET! Dickwella is starting to take charge, lofting Neesham for six over long-on to move to 45 and bring up the 100 for Sri Lanka. Neesham gets his revenge with the last ball of the over though, as Dickwella swipes, the ball catching the outside edge and flying to Ferguson coming in off the third man boundary.
Dickwella goes for 46, Kusal Mendis the new man. Sri Lanka still need 258 runs from 35 overs.
4:05pm: SL 86/1, 12 overs - Dickwella 35*, Perera 12*
In a shock twist, Kane Williamson brings himself on for an over, looking to turn the ball away from the two left handers. The second ball stays very low as Perera looks to sweep, but sees the ball slide under the bat through to Seifert.
A single brings Dickwella on strike, who reverse sweeps and is lucky not to be caught at short third man. Final ball of the over sees Dickwella drop down on one knee, sweeping Williamson over fine leg for four.
3:50pm: SL 66/1, 8.1 overs - Dickwella 27*, Perera 0*
WICKET! Sri Lanka have taken a liking to Lockie Ferguson, with the paceman being hit for 20 in his opening two overs. This pair are going great at the moment as Southee and Kane Williamson hold a conference to discuss tactics, and it's worked!
Southee pins de Silva back in the crease, trapping him LBW. The Sri Lankan opener thinks about the review, before walking off, out for 36. Kusal Perera the new man.

Fifty partnership for Sri Lanka's openers, as de Silva pulls Southee for four.

Nicholls misses a chance to run out de Silva taking a risky single. Sri Lanka have made an aggressive start, but still a lot to do.
3:23pm: SL 12/0, 2 overs - Dickwella 4*, de Silva 8*
Matt Henry with the ball from the other end, he'll bowl to de Silva. First ball is driven behind point, where Nicholls makes a brilliant stop.
Second ball is short, de Silva pulls and Southee saves the boundary at fine leg. Dickwella faces up now, and straight away he takes the attack to Henry! A back-of-a-length ball goes aerial out towards the boundary, no fielder there though and they get two. Fourth ball is squeezed to point for another single.
Henry goes full and straight next up, before de Silva uses the wrists to flick him through the leg side for a boundary.
3:18pm: SL 2/0, 1 over - Dickwella 1*, de Silva 1*
Right then, first ball from Southee is full on leg stump. Dickwella flicks but can't beat the field. Second ball is full again, this time Dickwella drives, straight to mid off for no run. Third ball is a low full toss that swings back into Dickwella, who again looks to whip it through the leg side, but can't beat midwicket inside the ring.
A push into cover from the fourth ball sees Dickwella open the Sri Lankan account, de Silva to face up now after his promotion up the order. Another fuller ball from Southee, de Silva defends. The final ball of the over is punched out towards cover, the batsmen steal a single.

We're just about ready to go in the second innings at Saxton Oval. It's worth noting that is a notoriously good ground to chase runs on, with just two teams (both New Zealand) able to defend ODI scores in Nelson since 2014.

Final over. Pradeep to bowl, Nicholls on strike. First ball is full and Nicholls belts it through midwicket for four! Second ball is full again, and this time Nicholls backs away and hammers it through cover! Brilliant batting. Third ball is short, Nicholls manages to pull it down the ground for two, and that's the 350 up!
Fourth ball is a full toss - and a no-ball - that Nicholls cuts over point for another boundary and that's the 50 partnership between Nicholls and Latham. Free hit coming up, and it's six! Henry Nicholls take a bow! Two balls to go, 21 off the over already.
Nicholls goes straight, and wants two. The throw to run Neesham out at the bowler's end is dreadful, but there's a chance at the other end - Nicholls is some safe though. Final ball, and Nicholls gets down to scoop it, missing it, but the batsmen run a bye to bring the innings to a close.

And a hundred for Nicholls! His first in ODI cricket and what a way to do it! Malinga goes short, before Nicholls swats him over midwicket for six! Nicholls takes just 71 balls to get there, with nine fours, and two sixes. Well batted!

Nicholls hits Pradeep for a six and a boundary in the 48th over, taking him into the 90s. The Cantabrian left hander has never scored an ODI hundred, and could have the perfect chance to do so here. Two overs left.

WICKET! Taylor goes, but what an innings! He eyes up the leg side boundary once again, but doesn't quite get the same power on the shot late in the innings, he's caught at deep midwicket by de Silva, out for 137. Jimmy Neesham the new batsman.

Taylor dispatches Malinga for two more sixes in an over, the Black Caps nearing 300. Five overs still to go, Nicholls will feel a chance at a hundred of his own here too.

These two are now managing to score quick runs without taking any real risks, Taylor's cleared the boundary twice since reaching three figures, while Nicholls is finding the gaps with ease. Still 42 balls left in this innings, and with Neesham and Seifert still to come.

Fifty for Nicholls now! The left hander reaches his milestone now! A brilliant innings in support of Taylor, he gets there wfrom 44 balls with five boundaries. The pair have also added 100 runs for the fourth wicket.

Hundred for Taylor! A push down the ground off de Silva gets Taylor to his 20th ODI ton! A brilliant innings from Taylor, coming from 112 balls with nine boundaries. Still more than 10 overs to go, the Black Caps looking primed for a big one here!

NZ are starting to accelerate, not helped by Sri Lanka adopting a very defensive mindset in the field. Taylor is nearing three figures, having been dismissed for 54 and 90 in the past two matches.

Fifty partnership between these two! A thick outside edge down to third man from Taylor brings up the 50 stand. It comes off just 48 balls, with Nicholls doing the bulk of the scoring.

At the 30 over mark, the Black Caps appear to be building before a final onslaught in the last 10-15 overs. Taylor is well set with 70, while Nicholls has been adept at picking up singles so far in his innings, the pair have added 14 from 22 balls.

WICKET! Williamson goes out after hunting another big six but he hasn't got enough of this one. Sails into the hands of a man on the rope at long midwicket and the partnership is broken up. Taylor's off to quick start after surviving an early run scare. Him and the skipper bring up fifty for NZ. Sri Lanka will want another breakthrough here to really take control of this match but they're walking a fine line with their aggression, trading wickets for boundaries.

They may already have the series in the bag after two wins at Mt Maunganui's Bay Oval, but the Black Caps won't be entering today's game resting on their laurels.
The Black Caps managed to hold on for a 21-run win against the tourists on Saturday but a sub-par fielding effort took the gleam off their series-clinching victory.
Six catches went down in the match - a stat Colin Munro says the team has addressed in preparation for today but one they're not sweating over.
"Sometimes that happens, you can't really say anything on it. We do put in the work and sometimes it just happens," he said.
"You look at the guys who dropped catches and I put my hand up there - I'm probably not one of the best fielders but some of the other guys are great fielders and probably some of the best in the world. You can look into it too much but we have acknowledged we need to do better."
There's also an important ODI series against India to find form for as well as the upcoming one-day World Cup.
With all that in mind, it means competition for spots in the team, mostly among the bowling unit, is up for grabs and today could be one of the last chances to prove it.
"Every game you play for New Zealand is important and as a group we're trying to get better," Munro said.
