Fireworks! Colin Munro smashes monstrous sixes off Indian bowlers in incredible match-winning T20 ton

November 5, 2017

Some fine hitting from Colin Munro and a brilliant opening over by Trent Boult have helped steer the Black Caps to a series-tying win against India in this morning's T20 match in Rajkot.

After the Kiwis won the toss and elected to bat, Munro scorched a fine ton against the Indian bowlers, reaching 109 not out off just 58 deliveries.

Munro's innings was highlighted by 14 boundaries - seven of which bounced over the rope while the other half soared over it for sixes.

Fellow opener Martin Guptill also improved on a tough performance in the Black Caps' opening loss of the T20 series, contributing 45 runs of his own before he got himself out with a simple catch.

The Black Caps went on to reach 196/2, and after a steady opening over, India looked to mount their chase only to come undone when they lost both dangerous openers in the second over.

Boult clean-bowled Shikhar Dhawan with his second ball before finishing his over with a fine edge on Rohit Sharma for an easy catch to Glenn Phillips.

India captain Virat Kohli attempted a comeback in the middle of the line-up, but his 65 runs off 42 balls weren't enough as India fell 40 runs short.

The win means the final T20 in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday morning NZT will decide the three-match series.
