Black Caps coach Gary Stead was asked if he knew the significance of today's date and he let a small smile grow across his face.
"It's Tuesday," he joked.
Of course, the real answer was that it is the one-year anniversary since the Black Caps' heartbreaking loss to England in the controversial Cricket World Cup final.
Stead never gave that answer, but he did laugh and admit "I know what it is".
When asked if he still thinks about the super over loss at Lord's he said it creeps in to his mind every once in a while.
"I do think about it a bit," he said.
"I think everyone has different emotions around it - the thing that stands out for me, it's all a bit numb in some ways but I'm enormously proud of how we played the whole tournament and as a Kiwi and as a supporter of the Black Caps, it's hard to be any more proud of the way that they played and the way that they fought in that particular game."
Stead added it was hard to believe the game was an entire year ago.
"Sometimes it feels like 10 years ago and sometimes it feels like a minute ago."
The final produced multiple controversies including New Zealand-born English hero Ben Stokes being wrongfully awarded another run after a throw by Martin Guptill was deflected off his bat.
Then there was the fact the championship was decided by a super over - a rule former Black Caps coach Mike Hesson later called farcical while insisting the trophy should've been shared.
But regardless of the heartbreak, Stead said he'll continue to look back on the match fondly instead of with heartache.
"It's certainly a match that evokes a lot of high and pretty good emotions around it," he said.
"If you take away that last ball or two."
