'The best one day player going round' – All eyes on Virat Kohli as Black Caps prepare for India

When the Black Caps begin their five-match series against India in Napier on Wednesday, all eyes will be on rival skipper and the world's premier batsman Virat Kohli, although New Zealand say that the star is only the tip of the iceberg.

Arriving on our shores as the top ranked Test and ODI batsman, Kohli and his Indian team will face off against the Black Caps having secured a 2-1 comeback win over Australia across the Tasman, with attention quickly turning towards another series win in New Zealand.

Speaking to media today, Black Caps batsman Ross Taylor didn't hold back in his admiration for Kohli, stating the impact he'll likely have over the course of the series. But there are plenty of other threats for his side to deal with, he said.

"Kohli's a sensational player, probably the best one day player going round - easily, really," Taylor began.

"It's easy to get caught up in him, but they've got two pretty good openers up the top in [Rohit] Sharma and co to come out before Kohli gets in.

"[Shikhar] Dhawan's got a very good record as well. I'm sure the fast bowlers will have their work cut out."
