Kiwi weightlifter Laurel Hubbard may have dislocated her elbow as she attempted a Commonwealth Games record snatch in the over 90kg women's category.
Hubbard was attempting to break the record with a lift of 132kg on her third attempt despite failing to lift 127kg with her second lift.
The weight appeared too great for her, with Hubbard’s left elbow catching as the bar fell behind her at the top of the lift.
She walked off the platform clutching at her arm.
Hubbard has since confirmed that she will take no further part in the competition in a sad end to her gold medal hopes.
