Coming up at 10.49pm the All Blacks Sevens take on Canada in a pool match.

BRONZE medal for the New Zealand women with a 74-58 victory over Canada. Well done.

Wth just two-and-a-half minutes to go New Zealand hold the advantage over Canada in the bronze medal match. NZ leads 71-53.

With six minutes to go in the match Canada a clawed back a few points against the Tall Ferns. Game on with New Zealand leading 57-47.

At the end of the third quarter in the women's basketball final Tall Ferns have a healthy 57-39 lead over Canada.

Coming up at 11.15pm the Men's Black Sticks take on Australia in the hockey final. They'll be looking to pick up gold like they NZ did against Aussie earlier today.

The Tall Ferns (women) lead Canada 34-26 at half time in the bronze medal playoff match against Canada.

Silver Ferns Captain Katrina Grant told broadcaster Peter Williams post match that her team"have to stay together" and are focused ahead of their bronze medal playoff match against Jamaica tomorrow. Grant spoke just minutes after NZ lost to Australia 65-44 in the semifinal.

BRONZE medal! New Zealand's mixed double pair Joelle King and Paul Coll comprehensively beat their English opponents two sets to love win bronze in the mixed doubles squash.

8.23pm Netball

Australia beat New Zealand 65-44 in the netball. Australia go through to the final against England. They were deserved winners. New Zealand play Jamaica for the bronze medal tomorrow.

The Tall Ferns women are leading Canada 18-15 in the bronze medal match against Canada early in the second quarter.

New Zealand's Paul Coll and Joelle King lead England 1 set to love in the mixed doubles squash bronze medal match.

Australia maintain a 20 point lead against New Zealand with six minutes to go in the match. It will take a miracle for the Silver Ferns to win from here.

As the fourth and final quarter in the netball semifinal kicks off veteran sports broadcaster John McBeth says New Zealand "are fighting for their reputation" as Australia hold a sizeable lead that could get bigger.

Australia look to be the better side in this match by far. They've dominated possession during the match. They lead New Zealand 50-20 at the end of the third quarter.

Australia are still carving up on the court. They're out to a 48-29 lead over New Zealand with two minutes left in the third quarter.

Australia are playing well and executing some audacious passing as they dominate the Silver Ferns. 43-27 to Aussie with six minutes to go in the third quarter.

Australia's lead has extended to 15 points with eight minutes to go in the third quarter. The Silver Ferns need to start doing things differently.

The second half starts in the netball semifinal with Australia scoring the first points against the Silver Ferns to extend their lead to 34-21 early on.

Coming up at 8.05pm New Zealand pair Paul Coll and Joelle King take on England in the mixed double bronze medal match.

Talking on TVNZ, former Silver Ferns captain Adine Wilson says an 11 point deficit at halftime against Australia "not ideal".

At halftime in the Silver Ferns semifinal clash against Australia, Aussie leads 32-11. Australia have maintained a healthy lead throughout the match with the Silver Ferns needing to make a serious dent in Australia's lead after the break if they want a place in the final.

Australia have a 10 goal margin and are in control with just over three minutes to go before half time. The Silver Ferns can't let the margain grow bigger.

Coming up at 8pm New Zealand takes on Canada for the bronze medal in the women's basketball.

Australia are still in control of the match with eight minutes to go in the second quarter. Aussie leads the Silver Ferns 25-17.

Australia leads New Zealand 18-2 at the end of the first quarter in the second semifinal match. On the line tonight is a chance to play England in the final.

With just under five minutes to go in the first quarter Australia have the edge - they lead New Zealand 14-7.

The best of the NZ riders in the men's road race was Shane Archibold who finished 6th. The rest of the Kiwis were - Sam Gaze, sixth; James Oram 11, Jack Bauer 13, Jason Christie 16.

6.36pm: Netball

Coming up at 7pm the Silver Ferns take on Australia in the women's netball semifinal. Earlier today the England beat Jamaica in the first semifinal.

A disappointing end to the men's road race for New Zealand who put in a great effort but failed to execute right at the end .

Australia's Steele Von Hoff takes out the men's road race. Welsh rider Jonathan Mould gets silver and Clint Hendricks of South Africa comes in third. Shane Archibold is the best finishing Kiwi in sixth place.

6.24pm Cycling

It's a fast changing men's road race with James Oram the only Kiwi in a group of three leaders including Australia's Cameron Meyer and an English rider. Other New Zealand riders are in the chasing pack with just over 2km to go.

There are five Kiwi cyclists at the front on the men's road race with 6km left to go. The Kiwis are looking good.

Kiwis James Oram and Sam Gaze form part of a four-man group who've passed Jack Bauer in the men's road race.

6.13pm Cycling

New Zealand's Jack Bauer has gone on his own to lead the men's road race with just over 10km to go. Archibold and Gaze close behind in the chasing group.

6.10pm Cycling

Sam Gaze is leading a charge of New Zealand cyclists (Oram and Bauer) with just over 12km to go.

"The New Zealand riders are making most of the chase" says an Australian television commentator as the peloton starts making ground on the leaders (Stewart of England and McLauglin of Guernsey) with 15km to go.

England's Thomas Stewart has made a break to from the peloton to chase down the two leaders.

5.56pm Cycling

Australian cycling commentators says the New Zealand riders will have "a lot of fire power" with 22km to go in the men's road race. Sam Gaze is the leading Kiwi.

With just less than 25km to go in the men's road race there are three Kiwi riders near the front of the peloton that's chasing the leaders.

5.45pm Cycling

There's just over 30km to go in the men's road race with two leaders out in front. The Aussie commentators are talking up the chances of New Zealand's Shane Archibold who's in the following group.

5.38pm Athletics

Kenya's Helen Obiri sprints away on the final lap to win the women's 5000m. In second place was Margaret Kipkemboi and England's Laura Weightman put in a strong final lap run fo r bronze. New Zealand's Camille Buscomb come in 12th place.

With just under 50km to go in the men's road race there's about minute between the leaders and the peloton. Aussie commentators says a couple of New Zealand riders are ready to make a move.

The netball semifinal between England and Jamaica is underway.

What an afternoon on the Gold Coast for the New Zealand with two gold medals going the the Black Sticks woman and boxer David Nyika.
