That's the game. NZ go down 0-2 which means they'll play England in the semis.

7:55pm - Hockey

NZ get one back! The ball rebounded from a penalty corner and Bennett tomahawked it in. Just over a minute to go with NZ having an extra player too.

7:51pm - Hockey

2-0 Australia. Unfortunately NZ have conceded again. That probably secures Australia the win.

7:48pm - Hockey

Penalty corner to Australia. Great save from the NZ keeper denies the Aussies.

It's still 1-0 to Australia in the hockey. Just over eight minutes left in the fourth quarter.

The second set is underway now. Canada have taken teh first two points!

7:20pm - Beach volleyball

COME ON NZ! It's 19-20. Canada won the point and the set but NZ are challenging that Canada hit a ball that wasn't on their side. This is must-see TV and it's on Games Extra. Canada ge the point and they win.

NZ save three of them, 17-20 now. Timeout to Canada.

7:15pm - Beach volleyball

A great point but Canada win it to take six set points.

6:56pm - Hockey

The Black Sticks earn their first penalty corner...and it's on corner and the save bounces back but the lurking Black Stick puts the rebound agonisingly wide! That was a great chance.

6:52pm - Hockey

There's still no score here at quarter-time. We're also not too far away from the O'Deas hitting the sand in their beach volleyball semi against Canada.

6:50pm - Hockey

6:44pm - Hockey

NZ just defended an Australian penalty corner.

The B6/B7/B8 triples team are just about to start against England. Good luck!

5:34pm - Boxing

We go to the judges' scorecards now...Scaife doesn't get the decision but he fought very well. Seyi Ntsengue the showman celebrates progressing to the semis with a backflip and as I said earlier, he looks a classy fighter.

5:30pm - Boxing

This is on Games Extra if you want to catch the last round (link above). Scaife may have won that round though it was close. If he did, we're heading for a deciding round now.

5:26pm - Boxing

The fighter from Cameroon, Seyi Nstengue, is the taller man and looks a classy fighter. He's slipped a couple of Scaife's punches nicely.

5:24pm - Boxing

We're into the first round of Ryan Scaife's fight with his Cameroonian opponent.

5:20pm: Boxing

Samoa's Henry Tyrell has gone down to Northern Ireland's Steven Donnelly in the quarterfinals of the men's 75kg division.

4:18pm: Lawn Bowls

The women's pair of Jo Edwards and Val Smith have lost again, this time to Norfolk Island, meaning they can't finish higher than third in the group and hence, won't advance.

3:58pm: Squash

And just like that, King and Coll have advanced. They outclass Malta 2-0 to book their spot in the round of 16.

3:54pm: Shooting

Kiwi Scott Wilson has missed out on qualification for the men's double trap final, finishing outside the top six.

2:26pm: Boxing

A much better round from Benny! Everything to fight for going into the final round!!!

A tough opening round for Benny, with O'Hara landing some good shots. The Kiwi isn't giving up though!

1:02pm: Shooting

Ricky Zhao has finished 14th in men's 50m pistol qualification.

12:58pm: Lawn Bowls

Canada still holding their lead and push it back out by one. Still a tight contest with neither budging. CAN lead 13-11 after End 15.

12:47pm: Lawn Bowls

And NZ snag another point. It's now 12-11 in Canada's favour after End 14. Both duos really finding their stride now and making it close contests at the jack.

12:45pm: Diving

Much stronger from Stone and he's moved to eight after round three of six. Goes for a double forward tucked sommersualt and nails it!

12:41pm: Lawn Bowls

NZ clawing back and take a single point but Canada still lead 12-10 after End 13.

12:35pm: Diving

Tough start for Liam Stone as he sits last of 15 competitors after the first round with a score of 36.80. England's Jack Laugher leads with 73.50.

12:32pm: Lawn Bowls

And Canada strike back for three points after End 12. Got a good cluster around the jack and NZ couldn't break it. CAN lead 12-9.

12:25pm: Lawn Bowls

Jo Edwards smask the jack with her last ball to give NZ a point and they tie things up at 9-9 after End 11. Quite the contest going on here!

12:25pm: Netball

That's it. England win 54-45. Now the calculators come out! Remember, the Silver Ferns can still make the playoffs but it's all going to come down to goals for and against now based on the other results.

12:23pm: Netball

Clock ticking down now. NZ still behind by seven with two minutes left - stranger things have happened but you'd be asking a lot for a miracle here. Especially the way they have played this second half in contrast to the first.  ENG lead 52-45.

12:20pm Netball

NO! Folau goes for an over the head pass but it's way off and goes out of bounds. England breathe a sigh of relief as the comeback attempt is thwarted and they push the lead back out. Four to go.  ENG lead 49-43

12:17pm: Netball

Lead cut back to four after a miss by England is converted by Selby-Rickit at the other end. Just under seven minutes left. ENG lead 46-42.

12:16pm: Lawn Bowls

Another strong end from Canada and they've taken the lead! NZ really struggling with the longer jacks at the moment and Canada are capitalising - they lead 9-7 after End 10.

12:15pm: Netball

And just like that, the lead balloons back out to six. Selby-Rickit is back on the court and she's missed her first shot at goal - it was close too. England convert to push their lead back out. ENG lead 45-39.

12:09pm: Netball

Positive start for the Silver Ferns as Folau nails one from deep to convert an intercept and cut the lead to four. ENG lead 42-38.

12:07pm: Lawn Bowls

BIG play for Canada and they roar right back into the contest with a three point play! NZ still in the lead but things just got interesting. Nz up 7-6 after End 9.

12:06pm: Diving

The men's 1m springboard getting underway now. Liam Stone is up for NZ!

12:05pm: Netball

England nail a last second shot to push the lead back out to six. An obstruction call in the shooting circle from Mes really hurt the little comeback the Silver Ferns were on there. NZ has one quarter left to turn around a six goal deficit. ENG lead 40-34

12:02pm: Netball

NZ strike back and it's their defence getting it done again! An intercept sparks a small rally for the NZ side and they claw it back to four goals. ENG lead 37-33.

12:01pm: Lawn Bowls

Just an update from the men's singles. Kiwi Shannon McIlroy destroyed his Indian opponent 21-0 to finish top of his pool in 43 minutes! Great job Shannon!

12:00pm: Diving

Diving about to begin with NZ's Liam Stone taking part.

11:59am: Lawm Bowls

Canada refuse to go away and they take the seventh end with the last bowl! NZ still lead 7-3 after End 8 though.

11:57am: Netball

Another costly pass in the midcourt and England make the Silver Ferns pay. Lead pushes out to six. Just poor decision making this quarter - really ruining the tempo and flow of Silver Ferns' attacking chances. ENG lead 35-29.

11:54am: Netball

NZ just don't look switched on in this second half so far. Had a chance to claw back a goal but they've blown it with a poor pass in the shooting circle. England happy to deny them and ship it down court to convert. ENG lead 31-27.

11:51am: Netball

Not the start they wanted and England convert on an intercept before scoring off their own centre pass. ENG lead 28-24.

11:49am: Netball

Back underway with the third quarter. NZ with the first pass. ENG lead 26-24.

11:43am: Lawn Bowls

Canada claw one point back but the Kiwis still holding a good lead in the women's doubles. Up 6-2 after End 6. Both duos still struggling a bit with range. No one has really worked out the pace of the green and it's showing by the margins between the winnings balls and the jack.

11:37am: Netball

Halftime!  England pounce on a mental lapse and they take the lead into halftime! NZ's centre pass goes flying out of bounds and England manage to convert on it before closing out the half with another goal off their own centre pass. Rough finish for what has been a great first half from the Silver Ferns. Their defence has been supurb and Folau's shooting has been lethal as usual. ENG lead 26-24.

11:36am: Netball

Mes comes in for Selby-Rickit. Just not looking herself today so Southby doesn't muck around. Folau nails another from mid length to tie it up again. 23-23.

11:32am: Netball

Shaky times as Folau and Selby-Rickit both miss right under the goal but they get the rebounds and Selby-Ricket finally converts on the third attempt. 20-20.

11:29am: Lawn Bowls

NZ build on their lead and after End 4 lead 4-1. Smith and Edwards are finding their range a lot faster than Canada right now.

11:28am: Netball

Folau continues her barrage from deep and it's keeping NZ in the match right now. Both teams scrapping for half-chances at intercepts and deflections. A real tug-of-war going on momentum wise. Great game. 18-18.

11:23am: Netball

A wild pass in the goal circle sees England cough up the ball early in second quarter and Folau converts with a shot from deep. England respond with an intercept of their own and convert it to keep things tight. 14-14.

11:17am: Netball

And that's the first quarter in the books. England bounce back late to even things up and we're in a deadlock! 12-12

11:16am: Lawn Bowls

Edwards and Val Smith have taken an early lead after End 2. A nice breaker by Smith sees them take two points and jump to a 2-1 lead.

11:14am: Netball

England tie things momentarily but NZ jump back out to a goal advantage thanks to more pressure from their goal keeper. She is playing out of her mind right now. NZ lead 11-9.

11:10am: Netball

AND AGAIN FAKAHOKOTAU! Intercept leads to a Folau goal and NZ jump out to a two goal lead midway through the first quarter. NZ lead 8-6.

11:08am: Netball

What a start from Fakahokotau. Two intercepts in the goal circle have foiled England and NZ bounce back through Folau with a long shot. 5-5.

11:05am: Netball

England out to an early 4-1 lead after Folau misses and England capitalise.

11:01am: Lawn Bowls

We also have the women's pairs first up this morning against Canada as Jo Edwards continues her quest for a second gold. This morning's game is a pool match.

11:00am: Netball

And we're underway. England get first pass.

10:55am: Netball

We're less than 5 minutes away from today's game. The Silver Ferns can mathmatically still make the semis if they lose today but life is A LOT easier if they win. Here's the line ups - a strong one for the Kiwis!

10:45am: Preview

The Silver Ferns rose bright and early today for a date with destiny as they prepare take on England in a Commonwealth Games crunch match this morning.

Still reeling after a diabolical 57-53 pool loss to lowly Malawi, the Ferns must beat the Roses at 11am (NZT) to guarantee a semi-final berth.

Even then, they may face the impossible task of a semi-final against Australia, who have coasted through pool play and are all but certain to win Games gold.

The Ferns followed up their Malawi nightmare with a 60-29 victory over Scotland, but still appeared shaky and must improve significantly to down England.

Coached by Tracey Neville, the English have gone through their pool unbeaten to date and have beaten New Zealand thrice in the past 12 months.

Elsewhere, beach volleyball brothers Ben and Sam O'Dea will face off with Canadians Samuel Pedlow and Sam Schachter in the men's semi-final.

Boxer Tasmyn Benny, already assured of a women's 48kg bronze medal, will fight for a spot in the Games gold-medal match against Northern Irishwoman Kristina O'Hara.

The Black Sticks men's hockey side will also round out their pool against the much-fancied Australians.

New Zealanders will also begin their Games tilts in diving and rhythmic gymnastics , while cyclist Joseph Millar will contest his men's 200m track semi-final in the evening.
