It's all over - Australia were simply too good and they take gold after defeating New Zealand 2-0 in the final. The Black Sticks should be proud of their efforts at the Commonwealth Games - winning silver.

MISS! Mark Knowles of Australia misses his penalty shot at goal and New Zealand still trail Australia 2-0 with four minutes on the clock.

The clock is the enemy now for the Black Sticks, there is five minutes remaining in the match. The New Zealand side has really struggled to keep up with their Aussie rivals who have looked threatening every time they are on attack. The NZ team are yet to have a penalty corner awarded to them in this match.

Aussies on the attack late into the 1st quarter but still all square in a tense game.

CLOSE! The Black Sticks have a shot at goal that whistles past the Aussie keeper's head and narrowly misses.

PENALTY CORNER! Australia have a chance to score here but the Black Sticks do extremely well to defend and keep the Aussies out.

Canada get the last say with a consolation try and the New Zealand men's team finish the day unbeaten.

TRY! Kurt Baker scores his first try of the match after a lovely offload from Regan Ware to Akuila Rokolisoa. Rokolisoa makes a good run before delivering a perfect pass to Kurt Baker who runs away to score under the posts untouched.

TRY! Regan Ware goes in for his second try of the match after another clever set up from NZ's play-maker Vilimoni Koroi. The conversion is good and NZ lead 26-0.

TRY! Vilimoni Koroi runs in under the posts after Canada fail to stop him, he was momentarily stopped but he powered through a tackle from a Canadian defender. NZ lead 19-0 at the break.

TRY! Regan Ware dots down over the right hand corner after some good running from Vilimoni Koroi to create the space out wide. Canada are in real trouble leaking in a try after one of their players were sent to the bin for an intentional knock down. The conversion is good from out wide.

TRY! The NZ skipper Scott Curry goes over in the left hand corner as New Zealand spot the overlap down the left edge. The conversion is no good from New Zealand - they lead 5-0.

And we are underway! Andrew Knewstubb kicks the ball off long towards Canada. They make a mistake and the NZ side have an attacking scrum deep inside Canada's 22.

Coming up at 10.49pm the All Blacks Sevens take on Canada in a pool match.

BRONZE medal for the New Zealand women with a 74-58 victory over Canada. Well done.

Wth just two-and-a-half minutes to go New Zealand hold the advantage over Canada in the bronze medal match. NZ leads 71-53.

9.22pm Basketball

With six minutes to go in the match Canada a clawed back a few points against the Tall Ferns. Game on with New Zealand leading 57-47.

9.09pm Basketball

At the end of the third quarter in the women's basketball final Tall Ferns have a healthy 57-39 lead over Canada.
