Mailata has lost to Frazer Clarke but still picks up a bronze for NZ. A great fight between the two friends and sparring partners.

A brutal first round between Mailata and Clarke sees the Kiwi given a standing eight count.

Clarke edges the first round but the big Kiwi can easily comeback.

The Tall Ferns are losing 72 -34 to the Aussies in the women's basketball semi-final in the 3rd quarter.

A valiant silver for both McCartney and Adams in a great night of athletics for NZ.

Dame Valerie's third throw not her best and she looks dissapointed, it's only 18.03m. She's still tied for first.

NZ have scored two quick tries just before halftime! The first one was to Blyde, the second to Broughton. NZ lead 22-0 at halftime over South Africa.

NZ up 1 -0! Great start by the Black Sticks who strike first against India in the first period.

NZ have made a hot start again, they're already up 12-0 against South Africa with three minutes left in the first half.

Should be a cracking game if the women's semi last night is anything to go by!

The weaker pole-vaulters will be jumping first at 3.50m meaning it might be a while until the Kiwis get a go...

Shaye Boddington is currently in 8th place in the women's 1m springboard diving final.

The men's Black Sticks take on India in the hockey semi-final at 9:30pm.

Williams now! That's a great try, Naill Williams didn't give up on a long kick, diving on the ball just shy of the deadball line. NZ 40-0 now.

Woodman is in again! This time it was pure speed as she streaked away from the defence. NZ 33-0.

Portia Woodman! She's just run straight over the top of one of the Kenyans on her way to another try! NZ 26-0.

A quieter second half sees Canada only score once to beat South Africa 29 - 0 in the opening game of the women's event.

Canada currently dominating South Africa 24 - 0 in the first half. A bit of a drubbing on the cards here!

Huge night of athletics tonight with Eliza McCartney and Olivia McTaggart going for gold in the women's pole vault final at 9:25pm.

Dame Valerie Adams is up shortly after in the women's shot put final at 10:40pm.

Finally Jake Robertson is in the men's 10,000m final at 11:10pm.

The Black Ferns will get their Comm Games campaign underway against Kenya in a pool match at 6:53pm.

Nyika got the decision! Clarke took a round off him on all the scorecards. Still, our man is through to the gold medal bout. Well done, David!

That's the end of the fight and it was a great one. Nyika probably shaded it but Clarke came forward the whole time and landed some great shots.

A better round from Nyika, he probably won that. He started to counter Clarke's overhead right nicely.

A very interesting first round. Probably a bit close for Nyika's liking, He let Clarke spend a lot of time on the inside which will concern the Kiwi's corner.
