The Breakers’ playoff hopes are in tatters after the New Zealand side slumped to an 87-107 home defeat to Melbourne United last night.
The defeat left the Breakers languishing at 7th with a 10-13 record with five games remaining.
Soft defence allowed Melbourne to open up a 59-34 lead at halftime with Melbourne allowed to shoot 46 per cent from the three-point range and 60 per cent overall.
For the Breakers, Armani Moore finished with a season-best 17 points while Shawn Long had 15 points and five rebounds.
