Watch: Your move, Lima! JR Smith nails clutch three-pointer in overtime to give Cavs huge NBA playoff win over Raptors

May 2, 2018

The Cleveland Cavaliers have won Game One of their Eastern Conference semi-final series against the Toronto Raptors thanks to heroic efforts by LeBron James and JR Smith after their thrilling match went to overtime.

The two teams couldn't be split after regular time in Toronto this afternoon with the score locked at 105-105.

Both sides had a chance to win it with Toronto missing three tip-ins under the rim missing in the final five seconds before Cleveland finally secured a rebound with 0.6 seconds on the clock.

James attempted a miracle shot after a timeout from 15 feet but his shot was short, sending it to overtime.

The Cavs jumped out to an 111-107 early lead thanks to three-pointers by Kyle Korver and JR Smith with 2 minutes and 37 seconds left.

From there, the Cavs chewed up the lock with Tristan Thompson's hook shot proving the difference.

James had a triple-double in the game, scoring 26 points alongside 11 rebounds and 13 assists.

Smith, who has come under fire recently by All Black Lima Sopoaga for his shooting form, replied to critics with 20 points, two rebounds two assists and two steals.

He shot five-from-six behind the three point line as well.

Fellow veteran sharpshooter Korver added 19 points with five three-pointers of his own.

All star DeMar DeRozan was Toronto's top scorer in the loss with 22 points.

Cleveland take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series with the second match being played again in Toronto on Friday afternoon NZT.
