Watch: 'We were shite ...that word 100% fits!' Steven Adams' classic Kiwi take on OKC's awful effort before epic comeback

Kiw NBA star Steven Adams didn't mess around describing the Oklahoma City Thunder's first half performance in yesterday's do-or-die playoff game against the Utah Jazz.

"We were shite."

The Thunder were down by 71-46 - a 25-point deficit - just over three minutes into the third quarter

Adams said the team's defence and their inability to change targets let them significantly in the first two quarters.

"First half we were shite at switches. That word 100 per cent fits."

But tings began to fire in the third and after a 61-28 run to finish the game, OKC kept their season alive with a 107-99 win.

The result was the biggest comeback in the franchise's history.

"In the second half, our communication was really good and the reads for when we need to switch or not - that's the grey areas. So our grey areas were really defined and that's where you usually get the slips."

The Thunder are not out of the hole yet as they still trail the Jazz 3-2 in the best-of-seven series and head to Utah for game six tomorrow at 2:30pm NZT.

Should they win that game, they will earn a winner-takes-all game seven back home in Oklahoma City on Monday.
