'They respond with a physicality' - Breakers prepared for a fired up Perth Wildcats

The Breakers are set for a crucial showdown against their old rivals the Perth Wildcats in Australia this weekend.

Despite the Breakers being ahead of Perth on the NBL ladder, coach Paul Henare is focusing on a tough Wildcats line-up with the playoffs just around the corner.

"Whenever Perth teams in the past have either been through a bit of a low or slump or whatever it is they respond with physicality and intensity," said Henare.

"And if we are not ready for a fight then it will be a long night."

Over 13,000 Perth fans are expected to pack into their home arena on Saturday night.

Video: 'Great manners' - fatherly Steven Adams signs autographs for polite young Thunder fans ahead of Nets showdown

Kiwi NBA star Steven Adams has become a fan favourite amongst the young Oklahoma City Thunder crowd and showed them some love by signing autographs for fans before his side's showdown against the Brooklyn Nets.

Adams put a smile on the faces of young Thunder supporters at Chesapeake Energy Arena today, signing autographs and praising the fans for their good manners.

"Great manners," said Adams as each kid asked the Thunder centre politely for his signature.

Adams has been on fire for the Thunder scoring four double-doubles in his side's last four wins against Cleveland, LA Lakers, Sacramento and Charlotte Hornets.

Watch: 'Keep being that force of nature' - Carmelo Anthony latest OKC star to praise in-form Steven Adams

Another of Steven Adams' well-known teammates has praised the Kiwi centre for his sheer dominance rebounding at the offensive end of the court.

Carmelo Anthony went as far to call Adams a "force of nature" that has plenty of potential.

"I'd like for him to continue doing what he’s been doing on the offensive glass, being that force of nature down there," Anthony said after yesterday's training.

"It's hard guarding him with one guy in the paint. When the shot goes up - for him to still grab those offensive rebounds with two or three guys on him, that says a lot about him and what he’s capable of."

Anthony is the second all star in the Oklahoma City Thunder line up to praise Adams' rebounding abilities in the last week with Paul George saying last Friday the team feels more confidence shooting when he is on the court.

"It just feels like we can take any shot we want knowing Steve's going to go get it," George said.

"It allows us to be more aggressive. There's not many guys that physically can match up with him straight or athletically can jump with him. He's in a category of his own, honestly."

Adams currently leads the NBA in offensive rebounds per game where he is averaging five each match.
