Steven Adams dribbles ball while sitting down before scoring with 'Kiwi-step' in bizarre NBA scrimmage play

July 29, 2020

Steven Adams continues to shine for the OKC Thunder in their build-up to the resumption of the NBA season, with the Kiwi basketball star producing a highlight play while sitting down.

Adams started this morning's scrimmage game against the Portland Trail Blazers and was once again restricted with his playing time, featuring on the court for just 15 minutes in the 131-120 win.

In that time, Adams scored nine points, claimed three rebounds and added an assist and a steal.

The highlight of Adams' point tally came late in the second quarter when the centre dove on a loose ball near Portland's basket.

Rather than looking to pass like many others would've, Adams immediately began dribbling while still on the ground and kept it going as his 2.11m-tall frame made its way back its feet.

Adams then instantly went for the basket and managed to lay in Euro-step basket.

The play copped plenty of reaction from the Thunder bench and even Adams let out a cheeky grin as he made his way back to defend.

This morning's victory saw OKC finish 3-0 in their scrimmages ahead of their first official game back on Sunday against the Jazz.
