The 17-year-old was voted the best player at an NBA-supported camp in China.

North Shore teen Taine Murray has been turning heads on the international basketball scene after being named the MVP at a recent NBA-sponsored camp in China.

The 17-year-old stands at six-foot-four and has only been playing the game for three-years.

"At this stage I think for me it is probably just working hard to get as good as I can," said Murray.

The Rosmini College year 12 student was coached by NBA coaches at the camp in China and was lectured by NBA players.

"After seeing it and experiencing it, talking to them face-to-face - it does make you want to work harder and see how far you can go."

The point guard is in the Breakers academy and is in the Tall Blacks training squad for the World Championships.
