Kiwi NBA star Steven Adams has given both a "serious" and "joking" reflection of his three-pointer from yesterday's pre-season win over the Dallas Mavericks.
Adams netted his first made three-pointer in his NBA career in the 119-104 win, having previously made 12 attempts in the last seven years across pre-seasons, regular seasons and the playoffs.
The big man said it wasn't a spirit-of-the-moment thing either, despite being the first basket of the game.
"Coach was like, 'look man, I want you to get a three,' and I said, 'I'll shoot it'," Adams said.
"It's one of those things that it's good that it went in but you're going to have to miss 20 of them in order to get a feel for how it works for the timing and that, if you want a serious answer.
"If you want joking answer, my eyes were closed."
Adams finished with 17 points, three rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes of play.
