April 1, 2018

The street mural of Victoria Cross recipient Moana Ngarim is generating a huge response from Ruatoria locals on the East Coast.

Top Kiwi mural artist Mr G Hoete has finished his tribute to heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker, and has earned high praise.

"FINISHED," Mr G wrote on Instagram.

"Joseph Parker supporters piece painted in the last 2 days in Te Puke (at the Te Puke Bakery)."

"All i can say is - "WE ARE RIGHT BEHIND YOU BROTHER!" You're already a true NZ Legend brother...GO HARD, bring the belts home! Nothing but RESPECT."

Mr G had appealed to the public for a Parker mural in Mangere, South Auckland, but changed it to the Bay of Plenty's Te Puke.

"Congrats TE PUKE - I'm coming your way! I may still do another mural in Mangere in future."

Mr G's Facebook post of Parker , only uploaded last night, has already received praise.

Waina Taiatini wrote: "Wow looks like a photo not a painting - epic piece!!"

Paul Alsop commented: "Your skills blow my mind. It takes me longer than 2 days to paint an interior wall 1 colour!"

Mr G is well known as an artist with his murals of Prince in Minnesota and Steven Adams in Oklahoma.
