'Young person' found dead on Katikati College grounds

A young person has been found dead on the grounds of Katikati College in Bay of Plenty overnight.

In a statement to 1 NEWS police say they "can confirm they are attending the death of a young person on the grounds of Katikati College overnight".

"At this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious."

The school has been closed for the day.
