'You do not grieve alone, we grieve with you' - Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel welcomes families to memorial

Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel says all of New Zealand grieves with the friends and families of those killed in the March 15 terrorist attack.

She was speaking today at the National Remembrance Service in Hagley Park.

"Those who have gone, may you finally rest in peace," Ms Dalziel said.

"We who remain, love and compassion to each and every one of us – care for the people. Assalam Alaykum. Peace be upon you."

"To all the people of Christchurch, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters, we come together again as one, as we have done every day in our hearts and minds since the 15th March 2019."
