Woman struck by windscreen fragment after airgun apparently fired in Auckland

A woman has suffered a facial injury after being hit by a flying piece of glass from a car windscreen in Auckland.

Police think it was air gun pellets being fired that damaged the windscreen.

The woman had to be treated by ambulance last night at a Devonport carpark, thought to be outside a supermarket.

Police have today been looking further into what happened but say the woman was not seriously injured.

Officers are appealing for information that can help them identify who fired the pellets.
