A woman has died following a two-car crash on State Highway 27 near Matamata this afternoon.
The crash happened near the Tatuanui roundabout at about 1.30pm.
Police say the woman in her sixties died while being transported to hospital by helicopter.
Another person received moderate injuries.
The road was closed for a time but has now reopened.

The Police Serious Crash Unit will investigate the crash.
Hamilton Police want to hear from anyone who saw a silver Mitsubishi station wagon being driven on State Highway 29 from Tauranga towards Waikato prior to the crash.
