A woman has been arrested over a violent home invasion left a 92-year-old woman hospitalised in Northland last week.
Police say two females, described as Māori, in their early-to mid-twenties, approached the front door of the a Kawakawa property asking for fuel before the 92-year-old woman was attacked in her home last Wednesday.
A 24-year-old woman will be charged with aggravated burglary and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
She will be appearing tomorrow in the Kaikohe District Court.
Detective Senior Sergeant Johnston says further inquiries have resulted in the female facing six additional burglary charges over previous incidents.
Inquiries are ongoing into the home invasion investigation and police say they are following strong leads over a second offender involved.
