Why is there a lack of female pilots in New Zealand?

Today, International Women’s Day, TVNZ1's Seven Sharp posed the question, why aren’t there more female pilots in Aotearoa?

This year no women graduated from the Jet Fleet Captains’ Course at Air New Zealand.

Women make up 5 per cent of airline pilots worldwide.

With a career that is dominated by men reporter Tamati Rimene-Sproat met a group of female trainee Air New Zealand pilots where he learnt some were told they couldn't pursue such a job because "they're girls".
