'What we're after is a level playing ground' – NZ growers facing tough market competing with cheap imports

November 23, 2017

Horticulture NZ say there needs to be mandatory origin labelling so consumers know where they’re buying from.

Cheap imports of foreign fruit and vegetables are making life tough for growers across the country.

Horticulture NZ CEO Mike Chapman said mandatory labeling of origin would help consumers support locally grown produce.
