Wellington students are adding colour to their campus walls to support the victims of the Christchurch terrorist attack.
Victoria University of Wellington students filled up a 50-metre-long wall with messages to the Muslim community in less than an hour.
Tamatha Paul, organiser and Victoria University president said, “There was this massive wall just waiting to be covered in messages of love, hope and positivity.”
Student Rabeea Inayatullah said she was happy something positive had come out of the tragedy of last week.
“Muslims don’t get this much recognition or love and support, so I’m so happy to see all this,” she said.
Even though the wall has been mostly covered, students are still finding room to add their messages.
“Everyone’s really concerned about each other and just knowing that there’s so much love and support around is quite overwhelming and quite sweet," said student Emma Dalziell.
Due to the overwhelming amount of support, another wall inside the Victoria campus is now also being used for the tribute so all students can show their support.
