Watch: Funky pastor gets crowd dancing at Green Party policy launch in Auckland

It was a real party atmosphere as the Green Party announced their plans to tackle climate change in Auckland today.

Before leader James Shaw arrived to detail the Greens' plan to eradicate the Emissions Trading Scheme in favour of the Kiwi Climate Change fund, a funky pastor took to the stage to warm the crowd up.

"Come on, we're the Green Party," the pastor announced, energetically swaying backwards and forwards while a pumping disco tune played in the background.

He then instructed the crowd to put their hands on hips, leading the gathering through a dance routine.

Green Party candidates and MPs weren't frightened to mix it up with the crowd, showing off their best moves, perhaps in an attempt to sway more voters.

The Greens hope to form a coalition government with Labour, and if that happens they will have to negotiate their climate change policy before any of it becomes reality.
