'The way they had portrayed me was being as an absolute ho' - Woman involved in Aaron Smith sex scandal speaks out

August 17, 2017

In an exclusive Seven Sharp interview the woman will clear up information she says the Daily Mail got wrong.

The woman involved in the Christchurch Airport sex scandal with All Black Aaron Smith says she was portrayed "as an absolute ho" following the incident.

Speaking exclusively to TVNZ's Seven Sharp, in an interview that will air tonight, the woman will explain what happened with Smith, the aftermath and why she's taking legal action over what she sees as defamation and an ongoing breach of her privacy in rugby circles.

Smith was seen walking into a toilet cubicle with a woman at Christchurch Airport before the All Blacks travelled to Argentina on September 18, 2016 for their Rugby Championship Test.

Mr Smith fought back tears as he faced media in Durban over his airport tryst.

The 27-year-old Smith was initially banned for one game following the incident, however, following a chorus of calls for further punishment, Smith "voluntarily" withdrew from playing in the third Bledisloe Cup Test in October.

In tonight's interview, the woman says: "The way they had portrayed me was being as an absolute ho".

"(As) a woman that had targeted this guy at the airport and forced myself on him and I had acted in such a way that they didn't even want their players around me anymore."

Seven Sharp's interview at 7pm tonight follows the Daily Mail's publication of messages between the woman and Smith. Tonight she clarify information she says the newspaper has got wrong.

The messages between the woman and Smith show the affair was not just a one off and was going on for some time.

NZR and the Highlanders have been approached for comment.
