Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters had his side of the House in stitches this afternoon when he produced an extremely long scroll of the Government's achievements in 2018 during his adjournment speech.
Mr Peters used his allotted time to poke fun at the National Party, beginning his speech by thanking them for helping reflect "how sound and progresssive the coalition Government really is".
The veteran politician then unveiled an oversized scroll, which he said listed all the achievements the coalition Government had made in the last year.
Mr Peters then followed this up with a piece of paper that he said listed the National Party's achievements in 2018 which was blank.
Earlier, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern also used her adjournment speech to talk up the Government's record, reading letters from constituents thanking her for policies such as the Winter Energy Payment and KiwiBuild.
National Party leader Simon Bridges used his time to point out where he thought the Government had failed during the year, alluding to the Karel Sroubek saga and the many working groups the Government has implemented.
The House is next due to sit on February 12, 2019.
