A Rotorua Labour Party crowd has been given a cracking surprise this morning, just as leader Jacinda Ardern and Waiariki candidate Tamati Coffey were winding up their address to those gathered.
After choruses of "Let's do this" rang out on the Rotorua street, suddenly a few beeps can be heard in the background. Moments later, a large NZ First bus rolls by, trying to get in on the act.
"Timing," laughed Mr Coffey, as the crowd also laughed along, and waved to the bus.
"Maybe we'll see you on the big day," he added.
Ms Ardern was in Rotorua to announce Labour's logging policy, while Bill English is in Christchurch visiting businesses.
"Maybe this has galvanised them, hearing each other's stories and knowing they are not alone," say the nurses behind the Facebook group, New Zealand, please hear our voice.
