Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern admitted she did hear Neve crying during her address to the UN General Assembly but says she wasn’t distracted by it.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern admitted she did hear Neve crying during her address to the UN General Assembly this morning but says she wasn’t distracted by it.

Ms Ardern was told that baby Neve begun crying seven minutes into the speech with cameras capturing the prime minister’s partner, Clarke Gayford, pacing at the back of the assembly with Neve in his arms.

“No, I did hear her, but you didn’t hear it throw me off my game, did you?” Ms Ardern said to the New Zealand media gathered in New York.

“I’d hope you’d notice I didn’t miss a beat.”
