Watch: Jacinda Ardern gifts Breakfast's Jack Tame and Hayley Holt nifty Christmas jumpers

December 11, 2018

The PM was in for her weekly interview but this time she received some presents for herself, Clarke and baby Neve.

With today being Jacinda Ardern's last appearance of the year in TVNZ1's Breakfast's Auckland studio, Christmas gifts were exchanged.

The Prime Minister gave hosts Hayley Holt and Jack Tame very colourful and nifty Christmas sweaters.

Tame's was particularly eye-catching, with his sweater covered in faces of dogs wearing santa hats.

Holt's sweater, Ms Ardern said, is "slightly more tasteful".

The Breakfast team reciprocated, giving Ms Ardern very practical and strong umbrellas for her her daughter Neve to use in the Wellington weather.

They also gift Ms Ardern's partner Clarke Gayford Michelle Obama's new book.

"We thought he might be able to get a few tips," Tame said.

"He's always aspired to be Michelle Obama but where he lands entirely it might be a bit more Prince Phillip," Ms Ardern quipped.
