Watch: Firefighters on hand as car smashes into Porirua Fire Station, injuring two people

Firefighters were close on hand when a car has crashed into the front door of the Porirua Fire Station, and into a fire engine. 

A police spokesperson told 1 NEWS they were called to the scene on Mungavin Ave at 1.42pm today.

Two people received moderate injuries. 

Video from the scene shows the car smashed into the glass door and a firefighter wedging the door up before the car is loaded onto a tow truck.
