Watch: Dazzling light installations to sparkle at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour

May 11, 2018

More than a dozen installations from Kiwi artists are on display at the free Bright Nights event.

Aucklanders are in for a treat this weekend with the free Bright Nights show lighting up the Viaduct - and fireworks lighting up the city.

The Bright Nights event will feature light sculpture installations from numerous artists as well as a fireworks display on Sunday at 7.30pm.

More than a dozen pieces will be in place from Kiwi artists, including a silent disco, an interactive Earth and projections onto the America's Cup boat KZ1.

Curator and lighting artist Angus Muir said "it's just about celebrating the viaduct, celebrating water, and putting on a public event for people to enjoy".

It runs from 6pm until late on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
