Letele, 38, received a special award for his weight loss journey and helping fellow Kiwis fight obesity.

Dave 'Brown Buttabean' Letele received a special honour at the Pacific People's Awards on Wednesday night, for his journey and fight against obesity in the Pacific community in New Zealand.

But the former boxer pulled a surprise whe he nudged the audience into an impromptu boot camp session, getting hundreds to exercise while accepting his award.

'Buttabean' fought on several of WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker's undercards early in his career.

Letele, 38, has almost lost about 100 kg during his own weight loss journey.
