Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will hold talks with world leaders once more today as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit begins in the Philippines today.
Ms Ardern arrived in Manila last night along with leaders from Canada, India, China and Indonesia.
The summit focuses on matters of regional security, and the death penalty is also likely to be an issue, with Ms Ardern previously voicing objection to the Philippines' enforcement of the policy.
Ms Ardern has just wrapped up new negotiations for the CPTPP at the APEC summit, where she and Trade Minister David Parker said a new, "better" deal has been agreed in principal for New Zealand.
She is also expected to continue pressuring the Australian government to accept New Zealand's offer of taking in Manus Island refugees, or finding some kind of solution to the problem.
New Zealand has offered to take 150 refugees following the closure of the Australian Government-run detention centre on the island last month, but the proposal was rejected.
Ms Ardern has labelled Australia's handling of the issue as "unacceptable".
