Watch: Christchurch woman returns home after 'mummy makeover' in Thailand

January 23, 2019

Kacey Louise has now returned from her procedure, so is she happy with the results?

Last year, Seven Sharp met a Christchurch woman who was heading to Thailand for a plastic surgery "mummy makeover".

The procedure involves nipping and tucking areas of a woman's body affected by pregnancy.

Kacey Louise returned home over the weekend after a roller-coaster of an experience at a Bangkok hospital.

"After surgery, I was like, 'What the heck have I done?'" she told TVNZ1's Seven Sharp. "I was too scared to look. I looked at my boobs and I was like, 'Yeah, mean'.

"The anaesthetic that they give you makes you very emotional, so generally about day four or five everyone has a meltdown."

Kacey Louise is spending $13k on a tummy tuck, breast augmentation and fat transfers to her face.

Once the pain and medication had worn off, was the "mummy makeover" worth it for the Christchurch mum?

She said it was and that the procedure has been a huge boost to her self-esteem.

She offered some advice for other mums looking at taking the plunge.

"Make sure it's for you and not for someone else," she said. "Make sure it's legit for you."
