Even in the best of times farming is not for the faint-hearted, but right now in the midst of the Mycoplasma bovis outbreak rural communities are doing it really tough.

TVNZ1's Seven Sharp sent reporter Mike Thorpe to Ashburton, a farming town he knows well, to see how farmers we've met before on the show are dealing with their new reality.
