Labour leader Jacinda Ardern has emerged from a second round of formal coalition negotiations with New Zealand First saying it was another really positive session.
She said that builds on the positive and really constructive session held yesterday.
"We now are in a position where we're discussing quite a bit of policy detail which moves us further along in these negotiations," Ms Ardern told waiting media at Parliament.
"Labour of course working at the same time with the Green Party in negotiations that will continue tomorrow as well," she added.
"We're using the time between to make sure that we're prepared for each period of negotiation as it comes. But in conclusion, positive, and we continue to move forward."
The Labour leader declined to take questions from reporters as she left the brief media stop with Labour deputy leader Kelvin Davis and finance spokesman Grant Robertson.
Winston Peters emerged from a meeting with National this morning saying the meeting "was great, like every meeting has been".
He said he was discussing similar policies with both parties, but he wouldn't discuss the details.
"It's not a game of tennis or ping-pong. It's different discussions with different parties."
He said no negotiations would take place with the Green Party.
