'You’re a f***ing maggot': Family, friends shout in rage at butcher who murdered Christchurch sex worker, jailed for at least 18 years
Air New Zealand's stunning new Christmas song, 'Summer Wonderland', featuring Irish crooner Ronan Keating and young Kiwi actor Julian Dennison is proving to be among Air New Zealand's biggest video hits, chalking up 3.4 million in the first 24 hours.
The video, which hit Air New Zealand's social media pages yesterday morning, gives a Christmas carol from the Northern Hemisphere a down under makeover, with Dennison urging Keating to give the iconic carol the Kiwi touch.
In the video, Dennison explains to Keating that songs about sleigh bells, snow and roaring fires don't really scream 'Kiwi Christmas'.
"I'm gonna stop you there, Ronan," Dennison interrupts.
"It doesn't really snow down here. So, um, let's go with 'your bro is glistening'."
And 14-year-old Dennison chipped in with other ideas to change the lyrics.
"I was also thinking jandals - like popping the plug out of your jandals, sand in your togs, and oh yeah, pohutukawas."
Dennison told Seven Sharp the video was shot in Sydney, revealing, "I actually had to do an exam before going on the flight."
Keating told the programme the heat in this part of the world for Christmas is "very odd".
"I definitely want to try a Christmas downunder, for sure."
The airline hopes the video will entice Northern Hemisphere people to take a holiday down under during the New Zealand summer.
The Christmas video has featured in global media outlets including MTV, the Daily Mail, Mashable and the Irish Mirror in the first 24 hours since its release.
