Watch: Air hostess surprised with epic proposal surrounded by family at Auckland Airport

A South Auckland air hostess has described the emotional moment she was proposed to in the middle of Auckland Airport, surrounded by friends and family.

Katerena Fale had just hopped off a flight and was walking through the arrival gate when she saw partner Fou waiting for her last Tuesday.

The pair have been married for seven years and have three children.

They married at a registry when Ms Fale was three months pregnant, so her husband decided to propose properly, albeit in spectacular fashion.

"I just started crying my eyes out and thought, what the hell is happening?" Ms Fou told Story.

Their eldest daughter joined Mr Fale for the proposal, who he said "kept telling me to just breathe".
