Waitomo drops 91 fuel price under $2 in Auckland for first time since June

Seven Sharp talks with the boss of Waitomo Group.

Auckland's two Waitomo stations are selling 91 octane petrol for less than $2 per litre - the first time petrol has dropped that low since June.

The price is despite Auckland's Regional Fuel Tax.

The company said it is selling 91 for $1.999 per litre from its Epsom and Mangere branches.

Crowd-sourced fuel price app Gaspy confirmed the pricing, with the next cheapest 91 going to GUll Birkenhead and Hobsonville, which are selling it for $2.027 per litre.

Neither a Gull station attendant nor the company's pricing media representative would officially confirm any pricing.

The lowest price on Diesel in Auckland is also currently held by Waitomo Epsom, where the price is $1.399 - the next closest rival is Gull Hobsonville on $1.427.
