Virgin Australia launches new services between NZ and Australia with 40,000 extra seats

Virgin Australia have announced they are launching are number of new services between New Zealand and Australia, with 40,000 extra seats.

This includes two new routes from Melbourne to Queenstown, and Sydney to Wellington, launch from today.

Virgin Australia Airlines Group Executive, Rob Sharp, said the airline was looking forward to expanding their presence in the New Zealand market.

"There's no doubt that we have upped our game across the Tasman and developed a very competitive offering for our guests.

"It was important to us that no aspect of the guest experience was untouched from our onboard offering through to the lounge experience and increased travel options," Sharp said..

The Sydney to Wellington return service will operate five times a week, with the Melbourne to Queenstown return services operating three times a week from tomorrow.

Services between Auckland and Newcastle will start late November, with three return flights per week.
