The group had a great exchange with a reporter who convinced Boomer (Asher Schwencke) to go shirtless.

Auckland Hip Hop crew SWIDT have paid tribute to their Polynesian fan base after a successful night at the New Zealand Music Awards.

SWIDT (See What I Did There) walked away with Best Group and Best Hip Hop Artist after being nominated for five awards.

The group comprising of Asher Schwencke (Boomer), Isaiah Libeau (Smokey), Jamal Muavae (JAMAL), Aaryn Orchard (A.Z.A), Daniel Latu (Spycc), Amon McGoram (INF), Jamal Muavae (JAMAL) and Aaryn Orchard (A.Z.A) spoke to reporters after their win.

"We all did it. Shout out to all of the Polynesians out there," they said.

The group's exchange took a hilarious turn after Boomer dropped down the top of his overalls after a reporter asked him to take off his shirt.

The group missed out on Vodafone People's Choice Award to Lorde, and Album of the Year to Lorde's Melodrama and Single of the Year to Lorde's Green Light.
