A Bay of Plenty local has captured beautiful footage of a large bronze whaler shark swimming peacefully along the shore at Pukehina Bay in Bay of Plenty.
Artist Joe McEnteer was out walking his dog Skip and using his drone when he noticed the large fish.
"I've done diving in Fiji with sharks," he said, "I love sharks."
Bronze whalers, although quite large with a maximum length of about 3.3m, are not particularly aggressive towards humans unless in the presence of food.
Mr McEnteer began using a drone as a new form of expressing himself, and primarily works with traditional Maori taonga art like pendants and jewellery.
