More than 60 firefighters have been called to battle a blaze at two industrial buildings in Auckland this afternoon.
The blaze has since been contained but is not yet extinguished.
Fire and Emergency NZ crews were called to the Wakefield Metals building, at Neilson Street in Onehunga, just after 2pm. It was already a well-involved fire by the time they arrived, officials said. The neighbouring Argus Fire Protection headquarters building also caught fire.
There were 20 appliances - including 16 firetrucks, two aerial appliances and operational support vehicles - in attendance. About 80 staff also helped battle the blaze, including 62 firefighters.
There was one person inside the Argus building at the time the fire started, but she got out unharmed, authorities said.
Motorists and bystanders have been strongly advised to avoid the area.
