The daily average is 2,300 visits.

Both websites' US traffic has been increasing this past month with INZ receiving 207,340 visits from the US, whereas the website had nearly half the amount of visits for the same period last year, while 126,380 Americans visited the New Zealand Now site compared to 40,520 for the same month last year.

INZ said they typically receive 3000 registrations of interest each month from US citizens thinking about moving to New Zealand for work, study or investment.

But in the past 48 hours 10,185 registrations have been received.
